Leila Bux, BSc (Hons) TCM
Leila began her career in complementary healthcare as a massage therapist. After experiencing the life changing effects of acupuncture herself, she felt compelled to study this ancient form of medicine in order to offer it’s therapeutic benefits to others.
Leila studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Middlesex University, regarded as the top TCM programme in Europe, graduating with an honours degree. The 4 year course provided rigorous training in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Cupping and Moxibustion as well as comprehensive training in western biomedicine (physiology, pathology, pharmacognosy, pharmacology). Clinical training took place at the Asante Academy of TCM, and NHS Pain Clinics located at North Middlesex, Whittingdon and Chase Farm Hospitals.
Leila has attended clinical placements at the The Yunnan Provincial TCM Hospital, Kunming, China, to study TuiNa (Chinese Therapeutic Massage), under Dr Yang.
Leila’s special areas of interest are in male and female reproductive health and fertility, and she is a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network, a special interest group dedicated to supporting
those with fertility and gynaecological issues. She is also committed to supporting people with chronic pain conditions.
